I had been searching for
"I had been searching for a suitable fan to replace the one in our family room. The existing fan had seen heavy use for over 22 years and the blades had begun to sag slightly. I came across this Bankston Parrot Uncle fan with a span of 6 feet. The room is large enough to easily accommodate such a large fan so I decided to go with this one. From my experience having installed over 100 fans, I found this fan is a combination of great and average setup. The pros include a dual rating of both commercial & residential. It features a modern & quiet DC motor. It moves more air than any other fan I have experienced. The blades are made of aluminum which really works for a fan with eight 31-inch long blades. The factory packaging for transit is excellent. The remote controls 100% of the features including reverse and six selectable speeds. There are other features including a security one. The "Not-so-great" of this fan is the bulky receiver in the ceiling hanger, but it has a very helpful aspect as all of the wires that connect to it are detachable. I would have preferred a dimmable and slightly brighter LED light. That's the only two takeaways I found on an otherwise fantastic appliance. With warm to hot weather arriving soon, I believe this is an investment in cooler summer living."

"We love this fan! The large size of 72 inches and 8 blades is perfect for our intended location in a large second-story family room with a vaulted ceiling. The remote is a full function with features not normally found on ceiling fans – 6 speeds, the ability to auto-cycle through all six speeds, a “away” feature to turn the light on for a random time between 5 to 20 minutes every couple of hours to make it look like someone is home, a countdown timer of 1, 4, 8 hours, and finally a fan reverse button. The fan is made with high-quality materials and is well-constructed. The fan blades are metal and painted to resemble wood with a protective rubber tip on the end of each blade. The installation was one of the easiest ceiling fan installs I have done over the years. Although there is a blade balancing kit included with the product, I did not use it as the fan was perfectly balanced right out of the box. The amount of air this fan is capable of moving is perfect for larger rooms and with the 6-speeds there is a setting perfect for any room. The light is a warm white light at 3000K and bright. As you can see in the pictures, I don’t have it installed in our family room (it’s actually installed in a small bedroom as a “bench test”) as I need to purchase a 2-foot downrod for the family room install. This brings me to the only suggested change I would make on this product and that is to make the electrical wires long enough to accommodate a downrod of more than the included 6-inch one – although additional wire length can be easily spliced in it would be nice not to have to. Overall, I am very happy with this product and would highly recommend it."

"The fan is great the customer service is crap and you won’t get a returned phone call and you might get a returned email 3 days later if at all. The product seems to be well built but the wiring diagram I got was incorrect. Just wish the customer service was as good as the product"
