Great fan with significant design flaws

"I do love this fan it is super quiet it gives a whole lot of air I love the remote but I only gave it three stars for a reason. Reason number one the location of the reversible switch it's a ceiling fan why would you put it in the furthest spot where it's almost impossible to reach. Second I'm not sure I understand why if it has a remote control why wouldn't you make the remote control also have the option to reverse the direction of the fan. It's so confusing to me you have a great fan a great product why wouldn't you make that remote control have that capability so that people don't have to scale the walls or the ceiling to flick a switch that is in the furthest most reachable part that you can't even see that you're likely to end up falling off the ladder and pulling down the entire fan along with your ceiling. I hope the company reads these reviews and I also hope that they consider upgrading the remote that go with their fans to have the capability to reverse the direction of the fan remotely"

This fan with an industrial

"This fan with an industrial inspired metal mesh light shade looks fantastic! Very well made and thoughtful design for easy installation. The installation starts with an outlet mount that allows you to easily put together the heaviest part of the fan with the 4. 5 inch down rod and gently set it safely in place. The 5 fan blades are reversable and have a black finish on one side and dark wood on the other. The included remote control allows you to choose from the 3 fan speeds and turn the lights off and on. The entire installation took me about 15-20 minutes by myself and the result is a beautiful looking fixture and fan."

I selected this 52” Parrot

"I selected this 52” Parrot Uncle fan to complement my son’s rustic-themed room. It really does have a beautiful look to it. The cage around the lights makes it look unique without interfering with the amount of light it gives off. The biggest drawback of this fan is the installation – the room inside of the canopy is incredibly tight, making it difficult to fit all of the wires in like you’re supposed to. Installation is definitely a two person job!! The remote control is easy to use, not quite as fancy as some fans, but it lets you turn the lights on and off, and change the fan speed without having to get up and go to the wall switch or pull a chain. It also has a timer (2,4,and 8 hour) which is nice. Overall, it’s a great looking fan, with good features. I just wish the canopy was bigger – installation is a lot harder than a lot of the other fans I’ve installed."

Replacing an old fan/light fixture

"Replacing an old fan/light fixture in family room, this fan offers a unique design and the remote control for the lights and the fan are a big upgrade from the traditional pull chains. Two-sided blade color (solid black or wood-tone) offers some options for matching furniture and walls. The fan install was not difficult, but I would recommend a helper for some of the mounting and wiring phase. Very quiet and smooth transitions between the 3 speeds of the fan. The 5-blade design moves a lot of air on high and is still very quiet. Lighting depends on the bulb type; I tried both clear and snow-white bulbs and found that very it projects very different into the room. Pictures are with the snow-white daylight bright bulbs. I rate this as a very good fan for the money and would recommend to others."

This Parrot Uncle ceiling fan

"This Parrot Uncle ceiling fan (funny name) is a new brand to me and wasn’t sure about it as I have always been a Hunter advocate. My experience with other brands usually resulted in low quality, wobbly and/or noisy fans. I can tell you that has not been the case with this fan. Assembly was pretty straightforward and familiar if you have installed fans before. If not, the instructions are pretty clear. This is the first fan I have purchased with a remote. The remote receiver was easy to wire and the handheld remote operation is simple with a fan on/off, three speed buttons, light on/off, and three timer buttons. The timer buttons allow you set the fan to run for 2,4, or 6 hours. This fan does not come with a blade balancing kit, which did concerned me, but to my surprise was not needed. You can obtain one from the company for free if you do find you need one. Once the fan was installed and wired, I turned on the power and then turned on the fan with the remote and it ran perfectly smooth and quiet. There is a noticeable low hum from the motor but not unusual and pretty typical for most fans. Overall we are very pleased with the fan and love the look, matches our home perfectly."
