I hung this fan/light combo from a hook in my deck gazebo, but the kit does come with a mount that you can put pretty much anywhere. Adding this fan to our outdoor space will make those hot summer nights much more enjoyable and help keep the bugs away. Assembly was easy, and I did not need to add the included weights to balance the fan blades. The LED light is BRIGHT. When I first saw it I was thinking it would be inadequate but I was so wrong. Lighting is even and generous, and you can choose 3 different color temperatures depending on your mood. The included remote allows you to operate the light (and it's color temperatures) as well as the fan and fan speeds.
