This fan is amazing. I truly love this fan. I recently wrote a review on a different Parrot Uncle fan. I loved it, but could not score it high marks. This fan I can! Even though it may look like something a tinkerer built, it is stunning! It really did dress up the dining room. I have been testing various fans and styles of fans and lights in the dining room over the past couple years. First it was just lights. Then we realized it got stuffy in the dining room when we were all together hanging out eating and playing games. We need some air movement. So we started trying various fans. Some the lights were not bright enough. Some looked out of place. Not everyone wants the look of a fan in the dining room. Then I had high hopes for the other Parrot Uncle fan I tried that was absolutely stunning, but found it had some issues we were not willing to overlook. It was super heavy. Airflow was ok, but noisy to get the air flow we wanted. And when the fan was running the lights gave off a flickering effect. Not the case with this fan. It is light. It is stunning. It gives off even better light than expected. The airflow is better than I originally thought, even on low. And it stays very quiet even on the highest setting. And when the fan is off, you don't really see the blades. You would forget they are there. They move back in so it just looks like part of the top of the light. I can stop looking for solutions now. I have found the fan and light that fits perfectly with the space and what we wanted. Things that interested me. The canopy cover is a little metal ring that attaches with two small magnets. The mounting bracket appears to be the best built I have seen. The hole spacing was slightly larger than most. There is a 10" downrod included, which we chose to use on our install instead of the 4" downrod. There is no winter mode for this fan. Based on the blade design, it makes sense.
