This is a BIG fan with big performance. The crystal frosted lampshade sparkles, like a thousand stars, when the light is on. It makes a spectacular conversation piece. The ergonomic hand held remote control gave me complete control over every function, even fan blade reverse operation. Within two seconds of pushing the fan "On" button & selecting the speed, the fan began to turn. Each consecutive push of the six fan speed buttons, impressively increased the fan speed. The other choices on the remote control: (1) ( I really like this one) A fan variable speed button, where the fan, on it's own, slows down, or speeds up to replicate the feeling of a natural breeze; (2) Three timer selections, where you might want the fan to run for 1 hr., 4 hr., or 8 hours before shutting off; (3) A button to turn the light "Off", or "On"; (4) A big bonus security button where the light will turn on for 5 to 20 minutes, every 2 hours, giving the appearance someone is home. All those functions worked flawlessly. The fan was very quiet during every speed, circulating a lot of air around the room. The product came with a lot of parts, so I just followed the step by step instructions manual that clearly shown, in mostly large graphics, where everything goes. The supplied ceiling fan mounting bracket, also stores the remote control receiver. What I did, to make sure the receiver would fit into the mounting bracket, given all the wires involved, I disconnected the quick disconnect pigtail from the receiver, I wire nutted the house wires to the receiver's pigtail wires, tucked the wire nutted house wires into the junction box so only the receiver wires extended out of the junction box & then plugged the receiver's quick disconnect back into the receiver. The ceiling fan comes with a basic short down rod, however the package includes a 39" long electrical cable extension. This is very handy if you want to replace the short down rod with a longer one.
