This review is for the Parrot Uncle Bankston 72-inch satin nickel finish ceiling fan. Item # HFALGR F8220110V. Out of the box, the components of this fan exudes quality and care in manufacturing. It has 8 straight edge metal blades, each with a aerodynamic curve to move air, in a light wood finish and also satin nickel finished mounting brackets for each blade. It all comes together nicely. This fan comes with a quiet energy savings DC motor that runs quieter than typical AC motor fans. The fan is completely fully operated by a remote control with the wall switch always left on. The motor is capable of 6 speeds, is reversible, has a 1 hour, 4 hour and 8 hour timer, and a bright LED build in case light with a screw on diffuser lens that will last for years and use minimal amounts of energy. The light is either on bright, or off, and is non-dimmable. The light is pre-assembled into the fan body. There are two other functions on this remote control; one that creates a natural feeling breeze by running through each of the fans 6 speeds. That could be interesting on speed 6 because this fan at that high speed could move a lot of air. One remote controlled function I had not seen before on a fan is the security function. When away from the home on vacation or work, this function will turn the fans light on 5-20 minutes every 2 hours. A interesting and desirable option. PROS: I have installed a lot of fans over the years and this fan is the most ingenious design for installation. I really like the simple plug and play, where two connectors from the fan simply plug into the remote control box placed in the fan. Ingenious. This fan was designed to simply make its installation easier, and it works. On some fans, blade installation can be a hassle. On this fan, 3 bolts per fan blade for a secure mounting and their accessibility make mounting all 8 blades very fast and easy. A highly recommended fan that we simply love.
